Located at prabhas patan, it is very nearly placed to the somnath temple from the check post of somnath. Gujarat government has taken the total control over the museum by taking it under its surveillance. The museum holds the remains and evidences of early somnath in the form of scattered stones laid down on the ground. It also has the statue of lord of fire that was made in 11th century, the sacred water of the holy rivers like st. Lawrence, murray, nile, Danube, tigris and also the sea water from new Zealand and Tasmania that are preserved in bottles. Torans belonging to 12th century, inscriptions, and the stones that has beautiful carvings of idols like natra bhairav and parvati, lord Vishnu and uma Shankar, pillars which has beautiful carvings of apsara, etc are worth watching.
